The Republicans will rebound from their recent election heartbreaks, that's according to former Vice President Dick Cheney. Cheney believes that the Republicans are capable to respond to the recent sweeping victories by the Democrats, and states, "it [The GOP] will rebound from this year's electoral defeats but only going through a political cycle like that in the 1970s. After Watergate, Republicans lost the White House, but President Jimmy Carter got only one term before losing to Republican Ronald Reagan."

Yes, the revisionist history begins. My God, look at that photo. Cheney is just a snarling monster. He really has very little credibility left. While the political cycle argument has some validity, the comparison he chose is a poor one.
ReplyDeleteI try my utmost not to pass personal political judgment, but as you alluded to, it's difficult with this guy. Admitting he approved torture on National Television sums this guy up. Like you said, a monster.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to third that comment on Cheney being a monster. While many will argue this is just how the political cycle works, but ot could take the GOP longer to recover than it has in the past.
